Let&#8217;s start with how to change the Netcool\/OMNIbus password. By default, it&#8217;s root and no password at installation time.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/publib.boulder.ibm.com\/infocenter\/tivihelp\/v3r1\/index.jsp?topic=\/com.ibm.tivoli.itbsm.doc\/adminguide\/bsma_cont_omnibus_passw.html\"><br \/>\nHere&#8217;s where the manual describes this process!<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Changing the IBM Tivoli Netcool\/OMNIbus password<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can change the password for the ObjectServer used by IBM\u00ae Tivoli\u00ae Business Service Manager.<\/p>\n<p>   1. Stop the TBSM Data server.<br \/>\n   2. To generate an encrypted value for the password, from the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:<\/p>\n<p>      $TBSM_HOME\/bin\/rad_crypt password<\/p>\n<p>      where password is the password that TBSM uses to connect to OMNIbus.<\/p>\n<p>   3. Copy the output of the rad_crypt command.<br \/>\n   4. Using a text editor, open the RAD_ObjectServer_DS.ds file. This file is in the $TBSM_DATA_SERVER_HOME\/etc\/rad directory. Before you edit the RAD_ObjectServer_DS.ds file, make a backup copy of the file.<br \/>\n   5. Paste the encrypted password as the value for the ObjectServer_DS.ObjectServer.DBPASSWORD property.<br \/>\n   6. Save the modified file.<br \/>\n   7. Open the RAD_OutputObjectServer_DS.ds file. This file is in the $TBSM_DATA_SERVER_HOME\/etc\/rad directory.<br \/>\n   8. Paste the encrypted password as the value for the OutputObjectServer_DS.ObjectServer.DBPASSWORD property.<br \/>\n   9. Save the modified file.<br \/>\n  10.
