I saw some interesting searches landing on my page last week about rumors like this..<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NEW YORK, July 25 (Reuters) &#8211; Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it agreed to buy Mercury Interactive Corp. (MERQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research) for $52 per share, or an enterprise value of $4.5 billion, in a bid to expand its business software operations.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will help the second largest personal computer maker Hewlett-Packard bolster its OpenView systems management software business, which makes it easier for far-flung businesses to monitor the hardware, software and networks across an organization.<\/p>\n<p>The move also puts it in closer competition with other major systems management software providers, including IBM&#8217;s (IBM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) Tivoli unit, CA Inc.&#8217;s (CA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) UniCenter and BMC Software (BMC.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
