David A. Kelly at ebizQ.net writes a good article on this topic here. He points out some of the challenges often found in large companies (I dealt with many of these over the past year!) and how solutions such as BPM, BSM, BAM, etc. are tools companies may invest in to continuously improve their business in the future.
Glad I stumbled across ebizQ.net for the first time today. Beth Gold-Bernstein writes about Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) in “Wham BAM”, her ebizQ.net blog. She hits the nail on the head with her findings on how vendors position BAM in their sales and marketing slicks and muddy the water about what it is. That’s why I say regardless of what you tihnk your definition of anything in the BAM, BSM, BTO, B-I-N-G-O alphabet soup – ask those you’re engaging with what it means to them as early in your relationship as possible!
Beth goes into a much deeper BAM discussion in her article “Speeding Toward Business Visibility”. A must read! ebizQ.net also has a great library of BAM related articles that can be read here.
Found this article “Business Assurance and the Changing Role of IT” while reading through ebizQ.net for the first time today. This could be the first article on Business Assurance that I’ve come across. The article frames a new acronym for us all to think about – ITBM – or Information Technology Business Management. The author Carl Grieves is a SVP at Touchpaper who offers what may be one of the few consolidated service desk solutions for the future.
