in Business Service Management, IBM, Implementation, TBSM, Tivoli, Usability

Two more TBSM 4.1 Interim Fixes have been released. IF003 mainly deals with initial globalization, however there are other improvements and bug fixes that should be evaluated. IF005 also deals with globalization and language support, specifically with the TBSM 4.1 –> TADDM integration (XML Toolkit).

Interim Fix 3 is available here.

-snip-

This Interim Fix addresses problems reported in IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 4.1, especially with regards to APAR IY97210 Globalization.

Features that are included in this Interim Fix:

SERVICE TREE SORT

This feature provides the ability to sort the Service Tree in ascending or descending order. The user can initiate the sorting by clicking on the column headers within the Service Tree. On the initial column click, the Service Tree will sort in ascending order, followed by descending and finally reverting back to the original structure. Note that if the values within the columns change (i.e. state change), the column sort will not be dynamically updated. It runs the sort function when the column headers are clicked, and when service trees are expanded.

The sort supports the following column data types:

– Icon (the icons are sorted by their corresponding integer value)
– Numerical

SERVICE TREE COLUMN SIZING

This feature gives the user the ability to modify Service Tree Column widths from within the Tree Template Editor. The user can
size column width by manually setting the pixel width or they may select percentage based sizing.

TBSM SYSTEM GLOBALIZATION

This fix enables globalization of the Tivoli Business Service Manager (TBSM) 4.1.

SECURITY ID DESCRIPTIONS GLOBALIZED

The security ID descriptions under the Security IDs are localized to display the descriptions in the user supported language.
