Business Service Management Success – Preparation before Product

Time has been flying by as things are in full swing here on the work front. I presented last week at our Business Service Management (BSM) Customer Advisory Council on the topic of Business Service Management from the Trenches: Enabling the “Tools Group” to be Successful with BSM”.

I touched briefly on all the key points of what a successful and well planned deployment looks like, how to avoid getting off on the wrong foot, focusing on what’s important to the business, service modeling, etc. I hate trying to cram a lot of information into as few slides as possible, but feedback from the presentation said I did a good job.

The full Business Service Management workshop is about done for the IT audience. I’m probably going to create a one day workshop focused on Business Service Management for the Business side of the house. This will probably focus on ways to speak the same language as IT, seek alignment, common vocabularies, communicating the business perspective and expectations for service performance, availability, etc.

Ping your IBM account team, client executive, etc. if this seems of interest to you. I’m looking for clients who may be interested in something like this.
