August Meeting Announcement
—————————
Southern Company will host the August ANSMTUG meeting. We’re going to do something a little different this time. We’re going to try to address several issues at the meeting that are designed to make future meetings more useful, such as:
* What tools are you using? We’ll take a poll and use that information to help us understand the tools our attendees would like to see at future meetings.
* What tools aren’t you using but would like to know more about? Again, this can help target future meetings.
* What tool(s) do you have, are you trying to use, and would like to see how others are using it to see if you’re getting the most out of it?
* War stories. We all have them. If you don’t yet then you will. We’ll open the floor to those who’d like to share their funny, or not so funny, stories of battles that may not have come out the way hoped.
This information should help calibrate our future meetings to address the issues and tools in which you’re interested.
Southern Company is providing food and drink! Please help us out by RSVPing (see link below) if you intend to attend so we can provide a headcount to order the food and drink.
What is the ANSMTUG all about?
——————————————-
The Atlanta Network and Systems Management Technical User Group was created to foster collaboration between administrators, architects, engineers, and operators of applications and tools used to manage and monitor networks, systems, applications, services, and business activities.
There are numerous enterprise and service provider companies in the Atlanta area who use best of breed applications and tools from companies such as IBM Tivoli/Micromuse (Netcool), OpenService (NerveCenter), Quest Software (Foglight), Hewlett-Packard (OpenView), EMC/SMARTS (InCharge), Concord Communications (now CA), InfoVista, etc. The intent of the group is not to be completely aligned with any particular vendor or solution, but rather focus on network and systems management applications and tools in general. There will likely be more focus on a select handful of vendor solutions than others, but this will be driven by the users and not the vendors.
