IBM Tivoli/Netcool Kick Off

I just returned from an exhausting week in Austin, TX with all of the IBM Tivoli executives and the Tivoli/Netcool Sales and Technical Services organization where we kicked off the year as the new organization. It just happened to fall the week of Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday celebrations in Austin’s famous 6th Street so much sleep was lost!

Following the official IBM Tivoli/Netcool kick off, a handful of my peers and I stayed to work on our reference architectures, best practices, solutions, quick starts, etc. project to formally document and deliver these into the IBM Tivoli family and our partner/customer base. There’s a lot of work ahead of me here related to BSM, ITSM, ITIL, etc. over the next six months!

A neat fact about IBM Tivoli is that they have significantly adopted ITIL and require all sales and technical staff to achieve foundation level certification. Apparently they’re at 70% or so now!
