After reading your article I wrote a blog about this too as well as played around with the SOA registry and business process modeler. This is some good stuff. P.S the performance of WebSphere ESB and Process Server is killer on AIX 6.1 on a 2-way power box.

Yes, absolutely. We'd just archive those off from OMNIbus using an ODBC gateway to Oracle, DB2, etc. From there you can use BIRT, TCR, Jasper, Pentaho, Crystal, etc.

Great write-up on the importance of events. Can you generate events from TBSM which are enriched with TBSM's correlation information, for consumption by some reporting tools. We would like to see if any BI tool can consume those events from TBSM.

regards

I agree, if I understand correctly that BPM is complimentary to SOA . A single service alone can be valuable although adding many services together to develop a business process with the opportunity to change quickly is most valuable.

Do you need a cloud of servers to run BPM and SOA? Or do you think it is possible to run that on a small mainframe also? i.e iSeries

I just came across an article in Forbes about BPM, it does a good job of raising awareness on something that more companies should really be implementing. I also like it when popular magazines provide a lay man's break down of new disciplines.

Interesting value proposition, like the old standard, but now free or relatively cheap maintenance. I think the SMB,MSP market they are targetting could benefit from opensource software like Rivermuse.
They are not new to the field and many estasblished players are targetting their market segement.
I am more interested in seeing their BSM product. This could be interesting.
