Red Light - Green Light 123 from the Dashboard Spy

The Dashboard Spy has put together a sleek and sexy web 2.0′ish set of dashboard indicators that he/she is offering up to the community.

These are perfect for use in your dashboard storyboards and mockups created as you work through the iterative development of dashboards with each audience. You can use simple Powerpoint animations to show how the dashboard will work based on the rules you will agree upon with each audience as well. Very cool!

I will write a short post up on how to use these in Netcool/RAD 3.0 dashboard creation. They can virturally drop right into the tree view and custom canvas dashboards and be driven by your data and policies. Very cool and very nice complement to the widgets and indicators in Netcool/RAD 3.0 today.

Thanks again to the Dashboard Spy for yet another great resource!

Netcool/RAD 3.0 Support Best Practices

I’ve added a list of things that should be done in advance of opening a PMR for a suspected problem with Netcool/RAD 3.0. By doing these things, the speed of getting a meaningful response from IBM Support should be greatly increased.

See the list here. Let me know if you think of others.

BSM and Dashboarding in Amsterdam

I’ll be in Amsterdam this week working with some of IBM’s global Business Service Management and Dashboarding subject matter experts as we collaborate on future offerings in these areas. I look forward to the discussions on strategy, consulting, services and products that will enable IBM’s future success. I’m especially interested in hearing from those who’ve been in front of our clients worldwide and the lessons learned from previous BSM and dashboard implementations.

Any recommendations for things to do or see in Amsterdam are appreciated!
