• What must tools and solutions vendors provide to enable a BSM Analyst?
• They (the tool admin) must perform the heavy lifting, integration and data management tasks so the BSM Analyst can map the business information properly.
• I envision a WYSIWYG drag and drop environment similar to web publishing tools that exist today where the nuts and bolts are abstracted from the user as much as possible. The analyst then has a platform for layout, mapping and visualization of the key information to communicate the appropriate message.

• Common templates for ITIL best practices, Balanced Scorecard, Six Sigma, etc.
• Common templates for industry vertical (finance, banking, insurance, healthcare, pharma, telecom, manufacturing, logistics, etc…)
• Common activity/transaction/process/workflow templates in those verticals
• Common template for Remedy and other help desk apps
• Common template for key CRM apps (OF, SAP, PS, etc.)
• Common template for applications, databases, generic systems, functions, groupings (web/app/db, application server, SAN, etc.)
• Wizards and WYSIWYG mapping approach to link the lower level nuts and bolts to the upper level policies, indicators, dashboards, etc.

• What tools or soltions can help provide realtime information to military mission planners?  IIRC, during my time in the Navy there were plenty of tactical solutions for managing aspects of real-time exercises and missions.
• What’s available for the more “business” like side of the military? 
• Supply chain, distribution, transportation, personnel and manpower, logistics, etc?
